Cue The Culture Magazine is opening applications for four Fall 2025 interns and we’re looking for students who live and breathe the creator economy, love a good trend, and want to see their byline (or video!) out in the world.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. It’s hands-on, creative, and future-facing. You’ll spend the semester writing, making content, experimenting with AI, and helping shape the rollout for our 4th annual print issue, dropping in February 2026.
We’ll work virtually, but link up once in November for a team dinner to vibe in person if you live near Jackson, MS.
The Details
- Program Dates: September 29 – December 12, 2025
- Stipend: $300 (paid in $50 increments per article delivered)
- Weekly Flow: Pitch on Monday, create all week, final drafts in by Friday
What You’ll Do
- Write 5 feature articles (500–750 words each) on the creator economy
- Produce short trend videos (CapCut, TikTok, IG Reels — your style)
- Interview and profile social media influencers (and build your network while you’re at it)
- Create your own AI avatar version of yourself and test how creators can use tech to scale their voices
- Develop marketing strategies to sell past Cue The Culture issues and hype up our Issue 4 release, which involves an HBCU/College Campus ambassador program
- Help build a contact list of Black-owned bookstores to carry the print magazine
- Recommend brands for partnership and collaborations
- Curate your resume, LinkedIn, and creative portfolio so you finish the semester with polished, published work
What You’ll Learn
- How publishing and distribution really works (beyond just posting online)
- How to tell stories about culture, creators, and trends in ways that resonate
- How AI is reshaping journalism and media (and how you can use it to your advantage)
- How to market a niche publication in creative, grassroots ways
- How to translate internship experience into a standout resume + LinkedIn presence
Who Should Apply
- Students who love writing and creating (graphic design and editing skills are a bonus, not required)
- People who keep up with creators, influencers, and trends, and have something to say about it
- Aspiring journalists, marketers, PR specialists, content creators, or anyone ready to build a portfolio that stands out
