Have you heard the news? Charm City is the next addition in the growing list of locations where one of our favorite events will be held. VidCon 2023 has added Baltimore, Maryland to the list of cities where social media influencers and digital creators will convene. Scheduled for September 29-October 1, 2023, VidCon will finally hit the eastern seaboard of the US.

VidCon’s senior vice president of marketing and communications summed up the big announcement in a recent statement:

“We are thrilled to bring VidCon to the east coast for the first time in 2023, allowing us to bring our unique and interactive in-person experience to even more people in the US. Adding Baltimore to our slate allows us to spread the magic of online creators to new audiences that will be inspired and informed through fun and interactive experiences and engaging programming.”

There are so many social media influencers and digital creators who saw a move to Los Angeles as the best way to cultivate their careers and build community in-person with others. This migration of talent coupled with burgeoning tech communities in Northern and Southern California known as Silicon Valley and Silicon Beach, respectively, made the annual VidCon gathering in Anaheim, California an ideal destination. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and even now that we are officially “back outside” according to Beyonce, many still work remotely and have moved back home or to other locations around the US making travel to a city like Baltimore, Maryland, more attractive.
